Pakistani forces conducted a door-to-door search operation in Sui tehsil of Dera Bugti and abducted seven innocent Baloch men on Saturday. The operation was carried out by Pakistani Frontier Corps, infamous for its anti Baloch policies and involved in forcefully disappearing Baloch activists and extra-judicially killing them in secret torture cells as a strategy known as “Kill and Dump” policy.
Sanctity of Baloch households was violated as the personnel of Pakistani forces rushed into the houses and harassed women and children during the search operation in Sui. The forces abducted Sobdar Bugti s/o Chillaw Bugti, Rakya Bugti s/o Turk Ali Bugti, Mir Hazar Bugti s/o Towk Ali Bugti, Bawal Khan Bugti s/o Toru Khan Bugti, Khawand Baksh Bugti, Ghazi Bugti s/o Fateh Mohammad Bugti & Pir Mohammad Bugti s/o Raja Bugti. The abducted men were handcuffed and blindfolded; were loaded to the military vans and taken toward an undisclosed location.
Central spokesman of pro-independence Baloch Republican Party Mir Sher Mohammad Bugti also confirmed the report and condemned the brutalities of Pakistani forces and termed it a continuation of Baloch genocidal policies by the occupying state of Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that an estimated number of more than 15,000 Baloch people belonging to different walks of life have been abducted by Pakistani forces and secret agencies. More than 500 have been killed and their tortured, riddled with bullets, mutilated dead bodies have been found in deserted places and roadsides. The cases of enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings continue to rise.
Many local and international human rights organizations such as HRCP, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have documented the cases of enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings by the state forces in Balochistan but no practical steps have been taken to pressurize the occupying state to end its ongoing atrocities against Baloch people.
