MASTUNG: Two mutilated bodies were found dumped in the Kanak area of Mastung, about 40km off Quetta, on Friday.
According to an official of Balochistan Levies, some passersby spotted two bodies in a deserted place in Kanak – the electoral constituency of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani – and informed the Levies Station.
The bodies were taken to a nearby state-run hospital in Mastung and were later shifted to Provincial Sandeman Hospital Quetta for autopsies.
The bodies could not be identified.
It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had directed the Balochistan Levies and police chiefs to lodge an FIR for the recovery of bodies and submit the challan before the court within the determined time.
The Balochistan government claimed before the Supreme Court that incidents of recovering bodies have declined in recent months.
According to the Balochistan government, over 300 mutilated and bullet-riddled bodies have so far been found dumped in different parts of Balochistan, while few cases in this regard were registered.
The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VFBMP), an organization striving for recovery of missing persons, informed the court that all the victims were missing persons whose bodies were found from different parts of Balochistan.
